The country's public sector bank State Bank of India has asked its five associate banks and Indian women bank customers to apply for a new check book. Bank customers will have to apply for a new checkbook with immediate effect, as the Gini checkbook and IFC code will not be valid after 30 September 2017.
SBI told the customers to apply for a new check book immediately after going to internet banking, mobile banking, ATMs or the nearest branch. It is notable that the associate banks have been merged with SBI, which includes State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, SBI, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore and Indian Women Bank.
SBI also gave an official tweet about this.
